Uncertainty and agency

A field map for acting with awareness when outcomes, other people, and surrounding systems cannot be controlled.

Agency matters, but Agency does not guarantee control. A person can choose, prepare, and act while still being shaped by timing, institutions, other people, accidents, and conditions they did not create.

Practices

Decision journaling preserves what was actually believed before the result was known. Mapping assumptions separates what is observed from what is merely necessary for a plan to work. Running small experiments helps an idea encounter reality while the cost of being wrong is still survivable.
